This post area is for an ongoing debate with the fire department. A Place to get it off your chest. Please keep it clean…………………………
citizen on 13 May, 2008 at 4:48 pm # To be quite honest, it would probably serve the city best by cleaning house at the fire dept from the “deputy chief to every last firefighter”. You are all a bunch on babies. If Eddie Favre had any brains or balls, he would do just that.
realist on 13 May, 2008 at 5:21 pm # Now that is real smart. If you only knew. If you are a citizen of Bay St. Louis you should feel real luck to have such a qualified group working for you. Yea they have alot of problems within. But you need to know that when they respond in an emergency, the citizens receive the utmost professionalism and quality..
I think all sides would agree with this.
Rember the old saying, Don’t cut your nose off to spite your face.
Comments on 13 May, 2008 at 5:27 pm # Additude reflects leadership. The Firefighters have had to work without leadership for the past 4 or 5 years. The Chief supposedly turned the operations over to the Deputy Chief. So you tell me, WHO IS TO BLAME???????
Since they decided to speak up, they get accused of whinning, doesn’t add up.
Copied from The Fire Chief Butts post area.
I moved these comments over from the other post. I have created a post sight just for this debate.
That department has gone with held back leadership for years. Look at Waveland. Their fire dept., at least up to Katrina, was legions better than the bay, but you never heard of anything like this there. From what I remember, Andrew ran a better department than they had with recent chiefs. Maybe mr. Butts will turn the place around.
No, Wavelands fire department was a turn over pit for the last 15 years. The reason you did not hear anything from Waveland is because it was nothing but young in experienced firefighters that were just trying to learn. They were intimidated be their leadership and afraid to speak up. Something the Bay leadership is trying to do as well. Just look at all the recent hirings.
